MODIFY THE MODEM SETTINGS:

- Click START, SETTINGS, then CONTROL PANEL.
- Double-click on the MODEMS icon.
- Click on the PROPERTIES button and select the maximum speed allowable from the drop-down menu.
- Click on the CONNECTION tab at the top of the screen.
- Click on the PORT SETTINGS button.
- Use the horizontal sliders to set both the receive and transmit buffer to Low.
- Click OK on each window until the Control Panel is left, then close the Control Panel.
